Home Team Festival 2019 received an overwhelming response from the public as the Home Team showcased its latest equipment and technology capabilities.
The largest public showcase of the Home Team’s capabilities was held at Singapore Expo Halls 2 & 3 from 22-24 November 2019. The Home Team Festival experienced huge crowds from the public as they swarmed in to learn more about Singapore’s safety and security capabilities and future-readiness.
The Home Team Simulation System (HTS2) was featured amongst the latest technology adopted by the Home Team Departments, to enable training and learning in the Home Team. HTS2 is an incident command learning capability that trains in disaster management, logical thinking skills, critical and operational decision-making. Not only does the HTS2 provide a realistic and immersive training experience, the system allows the training to take place in a safe, controlled and repeatable environment. The system was developed by the Home Team Academy with support from XVR Simulation on the software development.
Putting it to the real test, HTS2 has been used to train and prepare for actual deployments such as the Formula One Grand Prix, 33rd ASEAN Summit, Trump-Kim Summit, etc.
At the booth, the public got to experience first-hand how the top-class nation’s guardians train and prepare for major incidents.
